Our language classes have the goal to help you advance in your language skills as well as guide you through a journey of discovery of a new culture and of reflection about the world. We make language learning an inspiring and exciting experience that will take you beyond your expectations.
Our approach for second language teaching is inspired by many different methodological practices and pedagogical theories , such as Content-Based Instruction, the Communicative method, Culturally Responsive Pedagogy. This allows us to design interesting, meaningful and effective classes.
On the first day of classes we will get to know you and your specific goals and expectations, so the course can be tailored to your individual needs. Every class will be based on interesting topics of your interest and you will learn grammar and language structure without even noticing it! We use a variety of materials that make learning more fun and effective, according to your specificities.

English
Learn to communicate in English proficiently in all skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing). Immerse yourself in anglophone cultures and topics that will fascinate you and help you better understand the language!
We teach in the standard American English variant of the language.
Portuguese
Learn to communicate in Portuguese proficiently in all skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing). Immerse yourself in lusophone cultures and topics that will fascinate you and help you better understand the language!
We teach in the Brazilian Portuguese variant of the language
We teach all levels of English and Portuguese:
Levels A1-A2: if you want to start learning the basics of English;
Levels B1-B2: if you want to advance your basic knowledge to more complex structures and to be able to communicate in more varied settings;
Levels C1-C2: if you want to refine your knowledge and achieve fluency; or if you want to master specific advanced skills (scientific writing, professional proficiency, etc.).

SDG Conversations: Advanced Practice
Take a step further in your language proficiency and achieve fluency by discussing complex topics related to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
You will engage actively into rich conversations relating to a variety of materials that challenge your language skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing). Immerse yourself into fascinating discussions about the world and the global issues we face. Refine your language knowledge as you transform the way you see the world!

1-on-1 Classes
Quickly advance your learning by having a whole class all to yourself. Whether you want to move on at a fast pace, feel uncomfortable practicing a new language around too many people, or have a busy schedule, this modality is perfect for you! 1-on-1 classes can start and end at any time and it follows your own schedule.

Group Courses
Share your learning experience with other enthusiastic students and make some studying buddies along the way! The group courses are great for creating a fun space of exciting discussions and cooperative learning. Each group is composed of no more than 5 people, so the teacher can still focus on each students’ needs. The group courses open every January and August, don’t miss it!

We mainly use Zoom video calls, Google Classroom, and the ExplainEverything interactive whiteboard. When you schedule a class with us you will receive explanatory documents that tell you how to use each of these programs so you don’t have to worry about it during your studies. But we are always open to changing the channels of communication and material according to the student’s needs.

The first class will be an assessment for the educator to plan a personalized plan for your specific learning needs and goals. In this class you and the educator will discuss your past experiences with the subject taught, your level, your difficulties and strengths and your goals for the future. You will only start paying if you decide to go on with the course after the first class!

There isn’t a right amount of classes to take. Each case and, more importantly, each student will demand a different amount of classes to reach their goals. In the first class the educator will assess in detail your abilities, your past experiences, your difficulties and strengths and your goals, in order to come up with a plan that works for your specific case.

Our educator can teach people of any age. We are open to people of all ages and all life stages, it is never too early or too late to learn! Our student-centred approach allows our classes to be tailored to any student.

No! You can take the classes even with no prior knowledge or experience in the subject. We will help you every step of the way!

The structure of the course will be different for every student. It depends a lot on the student’s needs and goals. In the first class the educator will assess these needs and goals in order to come up with a plan of a specific structure that will better accommodate the student’s learning style and goals. Moreover, the educator will share the plan with the student and she will be open to changing and/or adding to the plan as per the student’s request throughout the course.

The 1-on-1 courses are very flexible and open to accommodating every student. When you book a class, you will have access to the educator’s calendar to choose the time that best suits you. Moreover, you can always change the time of classes, as long as you give prior notice!

Yes, every material and resource used in the course will be provided by the educator!

The progress tracking and assessment is a decision that will be made between educator and student in the first class and that can be modified throughout the course. It will depend on the student’s needs, goals and wishes. However, the educator will make sure to let the student know of his/her progress throughout the courses via feedback of the practice exercises and projects they will work on.
